Thomas Bywater s top picks of New Zealand s 950 scenically appointed public stopovers.
There s no doubt, New Zealand is a looker.
Aotearoa s natural landscapes command a special power to attract longing looks from tourists and luxury lodge builders. There s an entire subgenre of #CabinPorn (not as naughty as it sounds) dedicated to Kiwi bach cool.
Self-contained, scenic and stunningly remote – there are few accommodations that capture the independent, untamed spirit of the landscape quite so neatly.
However, a break in a luxury setting needn t cost the earth.
In New Zealand, we are lucky that more than a third (33.4 per cent) of all land is legally protected conservation land. About 8.5 million hectares comes under the protection of DoC. Among them are well-known landmarks and no fewer than 950 scenically appointed cabins, in all shapes and sizes.

An article from Korea Bizwire points out that a lot of South Korean 5G users just aren t that impressed with 5G speeds yet.
Despite promises of 5G speeds 20 times faster than 4G LTE, government estimates point to 5G speeds being only four times faster - and that s if you can get a 5G signal, with one South Korean use noting her 5G phone was mostly only ever connected to 4G towers.
Indeed, my own personal tests have shown that, while 5G can indeed reach speeds of 500Mbps or more on some carriers in Australia, where I was getting 500Mbps download speeds on Vodafone s much smaller 5G footprint, Telstra was only delivering 100Mbps 5G speeds.

More than six weeks later there are still no vaccination progress numbers on the Ministry of Health s website. The only regular updates on the rollout come during Wednesday media updates fronted by Minister Chris Hipkins and director general of health Dr Ashley Bloomfield.
